Internship

If you are interested to develop novel optical tools for cancer diagnosis and pursuing an internship at the LEAP Lab @ IIITDM Kancheepuram.
Number of positions: 1 (Mechanical Engineer), 1 (Electronics Engineer), 1 (Optics), and 1 (Biomedical Engineer)
Thrust Areas: Product design, Biomedical Engineering, Optics, and Instrumentation.
Location: LEAP Lab, IIITDM Kancheepuram-Chennai
Duration: Flexible (2 months to 1 year)
Who can Apply? UG (B.E./B.Tech) and PG level (MTech/M.E./M.Sc) students (DD also), Ph.D scholar pursuing their degree from University / Institution within India.

Project 1:
Title: Design and Development of a Polarization-sensitive Multispectral Intraoral Cancer Probe
Abstract: Oral cancer is one of the leading cause of mortality in India. The current techniques such as visual inspection of the intraoral cavity has lower accuracy to diagnose the disease. This project involves design and development of an intraoral probe for rapid and accurate oral cancer diagnosis.
Project 2:
Title: Development of Ring-Collection based Spatially Offset Raman Spectroscopy for Breast Cancer Diagnosis
Abstract: The project’s primary objective is to design and develop a ring collection-based Spatially Offset Raman Spectroscopy (SORSDx) tool that can quantify the bulk and sub-surface characteristics of the ex-vivo breast biopsy tissue.
