The research focus of LEAP Lab (Light Engineering and Applied bioPhotonics) is interdisciplinary in nature, primarily in the field of Medical Optics. It addresses the challenges in biomedical diagnostic devices, including microscopic and macroscopic investigations of cells and tissues. The current emphasis of the group is on developing novel optical tools for intraoperative cancer margin assessment, intraoral cancer probe, and transvaginal imaging probe.

05/08/2023: Congratulations to Karthika J. and Team as she will present her first conference oral presentation on multispectral intraoral imaging probe and Aromal Vijayan, Ramya and Team as they will present their first poster on polarization-based glare reduction technique in colposcope at Frontiers in Optics in Washington 2023.
21/07/2023: Glad to update that Rameesa Rafi and Aromal Vijayan (Summer interns '23) have been selected for the Student Leadership program by Optica, along with Frontiers in Optics conference in Washington, USA. The program will support their travel, accommodation, and food.
03/05/2023: Our clinical collaborator Dr. Arpitha Anantharaju, Associate Professor, Department of Obstetric and Gynacology at JIPMER Puducherry to present the recent work on transvaginal imaging probe at European Conference on Biomedical Optics, SPIE, 25-29th June, 2023 in Munich, Germany
